The
crane basket, a crane supported man basket, also
referred to as a suspended personnel platform, crane cage
and construction basket, is designed, manufactured and
tested to meet all Federal and OSHA regulations related
to overhead lifting. |
|

This
heavy-duty crane supported basket is designed to meet
the demands of the construction, industrial and mining industry. |
|
|
|
|
|
Each
crane basket includes standard features such as 42”high
meshes sides, self-closing swing-in front door with latch, re-
enforced mesh roof, and 4 hook points on top to attach to
overhead lifting device. Full perimeter safety harness hook-
upallows personnel to be attached almost anywhere inside
the basket. Standard fork pockets allows crane basket to be
moved with a forklift. |

The
crane supported man basket must be tested each and
every time it is used. Test weight must be rated for 1.25
times the weight of the basket. Our test weight comes with
necessary cabling to secure weight to basket. |

BASIC
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS |
|
|
1. Follow all standard rigging
and crane procedures.
2. Use a 4-point bridle capable of supporting, at lease five times the
total load applied or transmitted to it.
3. When a wire rope bridle is used, eyes in the bridle must be fabricated
with thimbles.
4. Bridle must be attached to the basket with screw pin alloy shackles. |
| 5.
Proof test lift must be performed prior to hoisting personnel. |
|
a. Connect test
weight weighing at least 125% of rated capacity of basket.
b. Hoist basket off ground for a minimum of five minutes.
c. Lower and inspect basket and rigging for any defects that pose a safety
hazard.
d. If any safety hazards are detected, basket must not be used. |
| 6.
Trial lift must be performed immediately prior to each shift or after repositioning
of equipment. |
|
a. Perform trial
lift with test weight attached and no personnel by performing a lift to
all intended work postions. |
7.
Basket is ready to be used.
8. Access gate must be closed and latched while during all lifts.
9. Personnel must keep both feet on floor of basket at all times.
10. All personnel are required to wear a full-body harness with lanyard.
