The illustrations above are normally
the best operating position for
propeller type mixers. Tank baffles
are not required when this position
is used. |
If the depth of the liquid is
approximately equal to the diameter
of the tank, a single propeller can be
used as shown above C. |
Dual propellers are usually specified
when the liquid depth is 1.5 times the
diameter of the tank or more as
illustrated in D above. |

TYPICAL VISCOSITIES AT 70°F
|
|
|
|
|
The major consideration in mixer selection are time,
viscosity of the liquid to be mixed, and the size of the
batch. The table below may be used for basic selection
in over 90% of all mixing applications. Selections from
this chart will provide liquid turnover of approximately
1/2 to 1 times per minute. For rapid agitation, use the
next larger size mixer. |
