|
PF-Series Gantry Cranes offer high capacity, high height, long
span, and economical lifting solutions.
These strong, portal frame (PF) cranes can be ideal if:
• Your building can’t support freestanding cranes or ceiling-
mounted cranes; PF-Gantry Cranes are self-supporting and
travel directly on the floor
• Your lifting volume is moderate and can’t justify more
expensive, permanently installed cranes
• You need an economical, versatile lifting system to supplement
your existing overhead cranes
• You rent your facility; these gantries are easily to relocate
• Your plant has been "making do" with multiple forklifts;
coordinating too many lifts, especially on heavy or very long
loads, is unsafe, inefficient, and time consuming

Power Drive Options
for PF-Series Gantry Cranes
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Power Drive Kits are an economical way to drive high volume,
high capacity gantry travel, so one worker can guide loads up to
15 tons by using a control pendant. The Kits are easy to install
and can be can be specified on new gantries or retrofitted onto
your existing PF Gantries.
Power Drive Kits allow high-volume, high-capacity gantry travel
along V-groove tracks, guide angles, crane rail, or truly trackless
paths.
The power drive kit includes: Two drives with drive wheels and
sprockets; chains; two gear reducers; two single-speed,
230/460V, three-phase, TEFC motors; solid state, adjustable
"soft start"; and two idler assemblies. Standard travel speed is
50 FPM.

Power Drive Kits & Options

|
|
|
|
|
Power Drive Kits for the PF-Series Gantry Cranes allow high-volume
high-capacity gantry travel along V-groove tracks, guide angles, crane
rail, or truly trackless path.
The power drive kit includes: Two drives with drive wheels and
sprockets; chains; two gear reducers; two single-speed, 230/460V,
three-phase, TEFC motors; solid state, adjustable "soft start"; and two
idler assemblies. Standard travel speed is 50 FPM.
• V-Groove Track Drives: Two motors drive rigid steel V-groove
wheels along a fixed path.
• Guide Angle Drives: Ideal for installations where the gantry runs
along a wall, two motors drive polyurethane wheels that are guided
on one side by a guide angle (locally sourced). The guide angle lags
into the floor, typically at the base of a wall. The kit includes guide
rollers on one drive and one idler assembly. Both drives and idlers
come with polyurethane bumpers.
• Truly Trackless (Aligning) Drives: Ideal when you need to keep your
shop floor clear of any tracks or angle guides, a selector switch on
the control pendant selectively turns each motor on and off to guide
the gantry along.

V-Groove Track & Stops for Use with V-Groove Casters
|
|
|
|
|
Two motors drive rigid steel V-groove wheels along a fixed
path. The track is an inverted steel angle welded to a flat
stock. All parts are fabricated with male/female ends and
fasten to floors with 3/8-inch lag bolts. V-Groove tracks
are stocked standard; special lengths are available upon
request.
• Track Stops: One male and one female end stop required
for each overall length of runway track; two of each
required for a two-track system.
• The 07301 1/3 HP Power Drive Kit is the only Power
Drive Kit that can be used on the 5-ton V-Groove Track.
All other (higher HP) Power Drive Kits must use the
15-ton V-Groove Track.
• The Light-Duty 5 -ton V-Groove Track can be used on
1-, 2-, 3- and 5-ton non-motorized gantries. Gantries
with capacities greater than 5-ton or gantries using
Power Drive Kits greater than 1/3 HP must use the
Heavy-Duty 15-ton V-Groove Track.
